Having recently been in Scotland with associated pleasures of driving down the Great Glen fault and spending time in the shadow of the brooding massif of Ben Nevis, all wreathed in mist, snow and ice, not to mention wandering the ancient streets of Edinburgh, my mind wandered onto the geology of Scotland. The results of those wanderings was the discovery of some fantastic documentaries on the geology of Scotland and the men who unravelled the mysteries thereof, and how their pioneering work was then exported around the world.  Go have a look here http://youtu.be/FYfuI2uZLmg for some great entertainment from Professor Iain Stuart.  Don’t forget to watch Episodes 2 and 3 when you are done with Episode 1.

Enjoy.
