Adventures in Geography

I went out to our local waterfall on Friday afternoon.  It was a precipitous scramble down a bramble-filled slope, and I managed to get thorns in my side, as well as my hands, legs and arms.  Bushwhacking is hard work, and then there are ticks to contend with days later.

Stay with me - there is a great video below.

But is was all worthwhile, because I found myself on the precipice of a magnificent waterfall - one that I had seen before from a distance but never quite so intimately.  It is the end of the dry season so the flows were low, but we hope to go back when the falls are at their most spectacular.

I scared myself

I flew the drone.  I scared myself, and at one stage I thought I had lost it.  The drone that is.  The winds and updrafts carried my little voyager almost to destruction, but we managed to draw back from the precipice so to speak, and there is some lovely close-up  footage of the tumbling cataract.

I shall let you watch the video for yourself, and I shall leave it there.  We will bring you many more films of these amazing places.
