Adventures in Geography

Plate tectonics is the most important theories ever developed in the history of science.  It is up there with the Theory of Evolution and the discovery of DNA.  Earth scientists view the world through a plate-tectonics lens, and so should physical geographers.

Plate tectonics is the mechanism that not only drives the plates, recycles rocks and leads to volcanoes and earthquakes, but it is the exquisitely balanced system that keeps our planet in equilibrium, and keeps it dynamic and alive.  New theories are also showing that it leads to speciation and evolution, including that of Homo sapiens.

Find out about the battles that went on in the scientific community, how the theory went from being the ugly orphan to a beautiful princess, and how plate tectonics will affect your future by watching the movie.

And once you are done, don't forget to like, comment and share.

So looking forward to exploring with you

An Invitation

Start your geographical adventures by reading our articles here. They are pertinent to the physical geography courses that we have to teach, and do much to frame the subject and to provide insights that are not normally to be found in the text books. Enjoy, and leave your comments and requests in the comments section.

Hang out with fellow geographers here, check out what is happening here, and go see some amazing videos of wonderful landscapes here.  And last but not least, amazingly interesting snippets which brings earth sciences and geography into our everyday lives here.
